Customer: *points* Can I get one of those bagels with cream cheese?

Me: Sure thing. Cream cheese is over there, I'll get the bagel for you.

Customer: And could you toast it for me?

Me: No problem, I can split it and pop it in the oven for a few minutes.

Customer: Oh... no toaster? So it's not a pre-made bagel? Nevermind... *walks away*

I had no idea it was that difficult to split a bagel and spread cheese on it. Go figure.

Dammit... now I'm going to have to go to the Bloomington Bagel Company for lunch.

And yes, it *is* that difficult to split a bagel and spread cheese on it. :D

This is just another example of our instant gratification society. Pretty sad.

I am SO confused...

uh... maybe they didn't want to be overly demanding and that's why they left at the idea it wasn't "a pre-made bagel" (whatever the fuck that is). PLEASE let that be the case.

Wait, what was the customer expecting? A bunch of bagels already toasted? Or could he not spare the extra minute it would take for an oven to toast the bagel versus a toaster?

So confusing! I hope you ate the bagel yourself, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM

And then announced over the intercom a few minutes later, "MMMM, THAT WAS A DELICIOUS BAGEL."

Customer: "You mean, it didn't come already toasted and slathered in cream cheese? And you mean to say that it doesn't taste like cardboard either? Hmmm. No thanks."

I'm assuming the guy was an idiot and thought that the bagel was still dough and that you had to put it in the oven to actually make the bagel. Otherwise, I don't get it; it should take as much time to toast something in a toaster as in an oven.
